I Broke my Vulcan :/

I was doing some more testing with the new Vulcan spring the other day when the plunger rod Snapped!

I knew this could happen but I thought the spring was balanced enough that the Vulcan can handle it, I was getting ranges of 65+ feet and shot off 125+ rounds before it broke.

I am now looking it to metal internal parts for the Nerf Vulcan, stay tuned. :)

  1. You forgot to pad the plunger tip, didn't you? I don't see anything there.

  2. No, I haven't but the shaft has a hollow C shape to it so I believe it was prone to break pulling against the heavy spring. I will have the shaft filled in when I make the Aluminum replacement.

  3. cant you just reinforce the shaft with glue? i was gonna do this mod and just coat it with epoxy, shoegoo or hot glue gun. is there space around it to allow it?

  5. I have broke three different plungers (yes they we're padded). I cut a kerf with a dremel through to the wider part and filled the whole thing with plastic fuse epoxy.before it set I dropped a steel paneling nail into the epoxy, centered over the break. They are now better than new!
